This four-span, 35-metre-long vehicle and pedestrian bridge connects an intercity road to the future Rita Mall. The bridge has an overall width of 25 metres and is composed of asphalt-overlaid concrete decks that sit on structural steel girders.
Girder loads are transferred into the ground through pier heads, round columns, and pile caps on 600-mm- drilled shafts.
Custom WF 1200 x 450 x 18 x 34 structural steel girders are utilized to support the 19-metre-long main span of the structure.
During construction, a section of the existing river had to be filled with soil for construction access. Consequently, to avoid bringing detrimental effects to the surroundings during construction, Harjaguna elected to install three 1-metre-diameter precast concrete pipes on the riverbed along the disturbed area. These pipes acted as a temporary culvert for the river stream and as a flood protection.
