METRO Department Store is a major Indonesian retailer that focuses mainly on fashion, cosmetics, accessories, and household goods. In 2010, Harjaguna was retained by METRO for the first time to work on their Trans Studio Makassar location which has an area of 12.500 m². The project was Harjaguna’s first assignment outside of Java.

Harjaguna was in charge of supplying and installing the store fixtures, including their accessories and hardware. Throughout the project duration, the project team encountered major logistical challenges, such as having to ship 80% of the materials from Jakarta and a long lead time on certain items. The project team had to formulate the necessary strategies to overcome the roadblocks mentioned above and to meet the 10-week schedule. The success of this project led to the continuation of working relationships between the two companies on other similar projects.
